Dark Choc Matcha Melty Kisses.

Meiji is a Japanese brand that makes fantastic snacks.  I’ve been eating their Melty Kisses for years. Found a recipe in an Asian cookbook and made my own :D

They are meant to be not really sweet, with some bite and hint of bitterness.

INGREDIENTS

  • Chocolate (you can use milk chocolate if you like them sweeter) 650g
  • Unsalted butter 70g at room temperature
  • Green tea powder 1 teaspoons ( I actually added 4…because I REALLY like green tea)
  • Pouring cream / light cream 2 cups
  • Maltose 3 tablesppons
  • Cocoa powder as needed
Cut up the dark chocolate. Melt over boiling water in a bowl.

Then pour into mould, place in fridge until set, and cut into cubes. Oh of course cut off the unaesthetic bits on the side first :p

Then roll them in good quality cooca powder. That's it! So easy :)

This recipe makes about 100 cubes, but of course depending on how you cut them up.

I made a batch, packaged into 30 trays with 3 cubes in each, and a few spare ones for myself :)

Some might find it too bitter...I"m planning on modifying the recipe and making a white choc variety next time!
